I remember when Robert Kennedy was assassinated and the TV reporters descended on Rose Kennedy at her Hyannisport Compound. “Mrs. Kennedy,” they questioned, “how do you do it? You have had so much tragedy in your life, how do you go on?” Rose Kennedy looked at the reporter with a resolve in her voice and a cold as steel stare and said, “It’s simple..I refuse to be vanquished”.
I thought, “how simple and mundane”..and then, as I thought more about her words, I realized how right she was. Mrs. Kennedy had hit it right on the nose! The decision is ours. We can let life’s “bumps in the road” vanquish us or we can refuse. By refusing to let life derail our dreams, our plans and our hopes, we do not give in to adversity but not allow it in. If it has no audience, no affect, then it has no power. We do. We have the power.
The energy is on your side..the ball in your court. You can be vanquished or you can refuse to. Seize your right of refusal. Seize your power and take it back.
